High-Tech parking payment – finally!

Posted on Updated on

I am a big fan of anything techy, and this extends to anything that saves me time and effort. Consequently being able to pay for my car parking in Nottingham without having to get out of my car has to be a bonus!

The system – which has been around for a good few years – enables you to register your phone and car registration on-line. When you come to a space that is free you ring the number for that town and it recognises you, checks your car registration and then asks where you are. The Street or car park will have its own code which when entered lets the system know where you are. It then asks you how long you want to park for – bingo, job done.

Plus with this service there is an iPhone app you can use as well (sorry John). This can tell you which Streets in Nottingham are ‘Ringo friendly’.

The fee is charged to your card and you get a reminder 10 minutes before your parking runs out by text!

When I have used this in the car parks in York it also offers you the option to add extra time – so there is no excuse for getting a ticket! I hope Nottingham adds it to its main carparks as well soon as it is a great system and an excellent use of technology.

I can thoroughly recommend registering!

I am thoroughly enjoying life without my iPhone thanks. Far more creative and effective.

I am told you were still replying to emails at 10.30 last night though – if you had your iphone you could have done them earlier!
