What a photo! Horsetail falls – Yosemite

Posted on Updated on

I haven’t been to Yosemite National Park in the USA for many years, but my memories of it are of many awesome views – and the magnificent photographs of Ansel Adams.

This photo of Horsetail Fall in Yosemite national park is from Phil Hawkins, a Reuters photographer, and is taken from a position along the Merced River off Southside Drive in Yosemite Valley just before sunset as the rock glows – appearing to be on fire. The phenomenon only occurs for only few days in February each year when several weather and climatic conditions are just right.

I must try and get back to the US National parks before too long, I had forgotten just how wonderful they are!
