Is a pizza a vegetable!

I know this sounds bizarre – and that’s because it is – the US Congress has apparently decreed that Pizza is a vegetable!

no problems getting kids to eat this vegetable!

Why? I hear you ask. There must surely be a good reason?

Well yes of course there is! The American government don’t do things without good reason! They wish to serve pizza at school canteens and to enable this it has to be labelled as healthy – so now it’s officially a vegetable!

Totally crazy – and wrong in so many ways!

• The tomato sauce is made from a fruit for a start.
• The base is pure carbohydrate
• Normally the sauce is full of sugar
• BUT – some of the toppings can be veg!

Sadly yet another example of the powers deciding something to fit in with their requirements rather than doing something for the good of the community.
